The New England Diamond Gems is a 501c3 non-profit organization that operates at or below cost. Our annual budget includes the costs for uniforms, player and coaches equipment, tournament entry fees, umpires, indoor training facilities, field maintenance costs, hardship tuition coverage, scholarships and more. We continue to be one of the lowest tuition cost organizations in New England as our investment is in the players development.

Thank you for paying your tuition in timely manner.

What is included in your tuition

By Age

The New England Diamond Gems roster teams from ages 7 years old in our 10U program through our 18+ team.

Our 10U team is primarily for player development and will participate in local tournaments, getting them ready for the next level of competition.

Our 12U team will play locally to ensure continued player development and to get ready for their middle school teams. They will do up to two overnight tournaments which will require lodging which is not included in tuition costs.

Our 14U Elite team will compete locally and regionally with a few overnight tournaments. Our goals for the 14U age divisions are to get them ready to make their varsity teams as freshmen and to be exposed to the next level of the showcase trail.

Our 16U Elite team will play locally and regionally in quality tournaments and enter into local 18U showcase tournaments so they can be exposed to the next level of play and maintain a high level of competition throughout the fall and summer.

Our 18U Premier Gold will travel locally and regionally while competing and showcasing our athletes in the highest level tournaments throughout the fall and summer season. Many of our 18U Athletes will continue their softball careers into college.

Our 18+ team is for players who have aged out and any current college players who wish to compete during the summer. This team will play locally so the athletes can maintain summer jobs and still have an opportunity to prepare for their fall college tryouts or workouts.

When

Our tryouts are scheduled the first week in August, immediately after our summer tournaments wrap up. We participate in fall practices and scrimmages with optional fall tournament participation at the coaches discretion. Indoor training begins in November and typically concludes in early March to allow our athletes to compete in their school programs.

The Diamond Gems also participate in an indoor winter league consisting of other area travel and high school teams. Our spring programs start earlier for our younger teams and our middle and high school aged athletes begin after school seasons wrap.

Where

We have access to several local fields in Milford, Hollis and Brookline NH, with additional fields utilized by our coaches in northern MA and western NH. As a travel organization, we participate in tournaments throughout the New England area. Our 16U and 18U teams may periodically play outside of the New England area which may incur additional costs not covered under regular annual tuition. We are always grateful for sponsor support and encourage fundraising opportunities to cover these additional costs.

Practices

Practices are typically 2-3 days per week depending on age group, time of year, tournament schedules, field availability and coaches discretion. During our winter training, Pitchers & Catchers participate in weekly workouts, as will our infielders and outfielders. Team hitting sessions are weekly throughout the winter and include several indoor hitting facilities.

Games

Each of the Diamond Gems teams participate in 6-8 USA Softball sanctioned tournaments and showcases throughout New England. Games are typically Saturdays and Sundays, however some tournaments or showcases may include Friday or other mid-week games. Tournaments are traditionally seeded with single elimination rounds on Sundays.

Uniforms & Equipment

Uniforms, Bat Bags and Helmets are provided as part of your tuition costs. The uniform consists of a practice tee, (2) game jerseys, (2) pairs of pants, socks and belt. Each player will also receive a helmet as needed and the choice of a standard bat back pack or catcher's bag.

Extra Costs

As mentioned, travel expenses for players and their families are not included in tuition cost. This includes transportation to and from tournaments, lodging or dining expenses. Any additional costs for added indoor workouts or additional tournaments are at the discretion of the coaches and families of their team.

COMMITMENT

During the off season, we encourage athletes to participate in various sports and other activities. School sports take priority over travel softball, however once we are in season (spring & summer), we expect that your Diamond Gems team takes first priority over other activities. We also strongly recommend that pitchers, catchers and hitters seek additional lessons from qualified coaches outside of their normal team and organization practices.
